In the mainmenu you can find some options for configuring the way you move in 3DTop. The following behaviour is the standard one :
Moving around in 3DTop can be done with the mouse or the keyboard.
Mouse-moving
You can move around 3DTop by clicking
with the left mouse-button on any empty space.
The floor, sky-paper and the body of a painting count as empty spaces too, so:
Turning around - Press the left mouse-button, keep it depressed and move the mouse left or right.
Going forward or backward - Press the left mouse-button, keep it depressed and move the mouse towards you or away from you.
Slide left or right - Press the Shift-key on the keyboard and the left mouse-button, keep them both depressed and move the mouse left or right.
Going up or down - Press the left mouse-button, keep it depressed then press the right mouse-button, keep it depressed also, and then move the mouse towards you or away from you.
Looking up or down - Press the Alt-key on the keyboard and the left mouse-button, keep them both depressed and move the mouse towards you or away from you. Or press the middle mouse-button, keep it depressed and move the mouse towards you or away from you.
Keyboard-moving:
Turning around - Press the left- or right-pointing cursor-keys .
Going forward or backward - Press the forward- or backward-pointing cursor-keys .
Slide left or right - Press the Shift-key on the keyboard and press the left- or right-pointing cursor-keys
Going up or down - Press the Shift-key on the keyboard and press the forward- or backward-pointing cursor-keys .
Looking up or down - Press the Alt-key on the keyboard and press the forward- or backward-pointing cursor-keys.
Notice that you can also move around with the cursor-keys while you are moving an object. The object will then move together with you.
The behaviour-options of the mainmenu exchange some features with each other so that the most common movement is the easiest to do.
